Overview

The paintings of Daniel Hesidence (b. 1975 Akron OH) are evocative arrangements of color, gesture, shape, and texture that tune our attention to unfixed, sometimes unfathomable, visual frequencies. In a sense, he is a philosopher whose proposals for pushing and pulling images beyond language and representation in turn refresh the experience of apprehension, not only of an artwork but also of the stuff from which it materializes.
